Jim O'Meara was born in Philadelphia, but he and his family moved to his current hometown of Lehighton, Pa. when he was only one month old. He went to school at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School and graduated from Lehighton Area High School in 1981. Jim has two sisters (Patti, lives in Wisconsin; and Diane, lives in Georgia).
Jim has always been active in his home parish of Sts Peter & Paul, having served as Altar Boy, Lector, Usher, CCD Director, Organist, and Soloist throughout the years.
In 1986 Jim was listening to the radio and heard an advertisement for the Pennsylvania Broadcast Institute in Reading, Pa. After thinking about it for awhile, he decided that radio just might be a good idea. He signed up for the 16-week twice-a-week evening course in Radio & TV Broadcasting, and before the course ended, he landed a job at AM 1160 WYNS, the radio station in his hometown in Lehighton in 1987. After 16 years, the station was sold and Jim worked for a few years at a nearby station, WLSH, in Lansford, Pa. Later he had a 1-year show on Penns Peak Radio called "Mainstage USA". In 2006 he turned to internet podcasting, creating the "Catholic Music Express".
At present, Jim works full-time for Blue Ridge Communications in their Level 2 Technical Support team in Lehighton, and has begun studying to earn a certificate as a Paralegal.
